Singh Center for Nanotechnology at UPenn
In the summer of 2017, Professor A.T. Charlie Johnson was kind enough to let me join his research group, the Johnson Group, at the University of Pennsylvania. During these few months, Dr. Zhaoli Gao patiently trained me both in terms of experimental technique and in terms of theoretical foundations in nanotechnology. My main focus was primarily the synthesis of 1-layer-thin graphene samples which were then mounted onto silicon wafers and used as biosensor. In addition, due to my previous experiences with 3D modeling, I was also involved in the creation of the illustrative figures for the different projects. By the end of my short stay, I completed full training at the Singh Center for Nanotechnology, gaining access to all of the equipment within the “Clean Room." Although I could not continue with full participation until the very moment of the projects’ completions, Dr. Gao has generously included me within their publications.
